What are the tasks of prosthetics?

The task of modern dental prosthetics is to restore and reconstruct lost, damaged and insufficiently beautiful teeth within the shortest possible time.

What are the trends today?
To avoid materials which are “unfriendly” to the surrounding tissues and application of those which our immune system does not recognize as a foreign body; to eliminate any materials which fall short of or entirely fail to fulfil the aesthetic standards of permanent restorations, such as amalgam (silver) fillings, non-precious metal alloys as the foundation of crowns, bridges, etc.

NON-METAL CERAMICS
NON-METAL CERAMICS proved to be a material which satisfies all biological, mechanical and aesthetic requirements. Apart from biocompatibility, its advantage most certainly lies in its natural appearance and beauty, as the teeth made of that material are as close as possible to healthy, beautiful natural teeth, reflecting and letting light through in the same way as the natural tooth enamel.

VENEERS (CERAMIC FACETS)
Veneers (ceramic facets) are thin ceramic tiles (0.5-0.7 mm), cemented (glued) to the tooth surface, visible when you speak or smile. They can successfully close a diastema (gap between teeth), as well as change the inadequate colour, position or shape of particular teeth. Thus, it is possible to achieve an ideal smile, popularly called - the HOLLYWOOD SMILE.
The most important advantage of ceramic facets (veneers) is minimal preparation of only one tooth surface (mini-prep veneers); sometimes it is even possible to make ceramic facets without any preparation whatsoever (non-prep veneers).

CERAMIC INLAYS/ONLAYS
are a kind of ceramic fillings. They restore only the part of the tooth damaged by caries or some other cause, leaving the healthy tooth walls intact. They do not require radical preparation as in the case of crowns, but only partial preparation as in the case of fillings. What makes them different from ordinary fillings is their solidity (which is most similar to the solidity of natural teeth, making them more durable as well), and their ultimate aesthetic results (their shape and colour perfectly match the surrounding teeth alignment).

CEREC CENTAR offers you the possibility of having such restorations done during only one session.

IMPLANT PROSTHETICS
The restoration of lost teeth by implants is a high quality, state-of-the-art approach offered by modern dentistry. However, implant placement is only the “first act”. The climax of the story is what comes later - placing prosthetic restorations on them, either fixed crowns or removable or semi-removable dentures, stabilized by implants. Maximum aesthetic results and functionality are guaranteed by an adequate approach and new digital implant placement protocols.
