Paediatric and preventive dentistry

The most significant function of milk teeth, apart from chewing, speaking and serving an aesthetic purpose, is to keep the space for permanent teeth, so that when the time comes for all teeth to be changed, they can form a nice and regular alignment.

Furthermore, we should bear in mind that not all milk teeth are changed at the same time; in fact, there is a relatively long period of the so-called mixed dentition - when the child has both milk and permanent teeth. In view of the fact that caries is caused by bacteria, which equally attack primary and permanent teeth, very often a large number of permanent teeth develop caries.

During endodontic treatment, the root canal is filled with biocompatible material, which enables the tooth to be functional for many years upon the restoration of the crown.

Therefore, the question which parents often pose – if it is necessary to repair and take care of primary teeth - is redundant.

The youngest patients and appropriate care for milk teeth deserve special attention and are considered very important. This is why the CEREC CENTAR offers modern dental care for children, applying a considerate and friendly approach.
